Hypatia is a directory of research workers in Computer
Science and Pure Mathematics. It provides tools for authors to
publish bibliographical infomation about their own work, and for readers
to search and use this information.
What's in Hypatia
- Addresses, telephone numbers, web pages, etc. like this for 1552
people who do academic or similar research in computer science and
mathematics.
- Address information like this for 863
university mathematics and computer science departments, learned
societies and theoretical laboratories of companies.
- See the recent
changes to the address information and browse the lists of
authors and sites, alphabetically, geographically or by net address.
- Bibliographical information supplied by authors
or found on the web (83521 items).
- click-to-\cite:
get all of the bibliographical information that you need for your paper in one
go, and hyper-link the citations in the text.
- Current research papers by these authors updated automatically from
their public FTP
(not Web/HTTP) areas.
- See the accessions
made in the last few days (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).
You can search Hypatia's address and bibliographical information
- To find an author, enter his or her family name. You can
give a full name in BibTeX format if you wish (eg "Taylor, P" or "Taylor,
Paul" with a comma), but it is usually better to omit this. The address
information and bibliography are both searched.
- To find a site, enter the significant word(s) of the name of the
university, society or company, or the town or city where it is
located.
- If what you enter is not recognised as an author or site, your
keywords will be used to search the bibliography collection,
returning a list of authors, so you will see who is interested in a
particular subject. You will then be invited to refine your query before
seeing the bibliographical information itself.
- Only some of the mirrored papers have associated searchable
bibliographical information: otherwise you must go to the author's page.
- To register, search for your family name or institution in the
directory. If your site is not already registered when you try to register
yourself, you will be asked for the site's details first, so it is easier
to register the site first.
